What was it like growing up Jewish in Australia during world War ll? In this provocative lecture based on her newly published book of the same name, author Helen Wolfers describes the challenges she experienced growing up as the daughter of Jewish immigrants in the xenophobic, virulently anti-Semitic Australia of her childhood. She takes us on a journey which is sure to stir many different reactions amongst its listeners of all generations, especially the children and grandchildren who may never before have heard about this aspect of their parents’ and grandparents’ lives.
