A lovely legend comes out of Jewish mystical writings. It tells us that somewhere in the world, 36 righteous people are always among us and, through their actions, keep humanity safe from destruction, from fire and from flood. In fact the world's very existence depends on them. They are not known to each other; even unaware of their purpose, but true to their nature, they create a wellspring of loving kindness for us all. The three stories in this session are example of acts of compassion and courage.
