Rather than theology, it was a series of historical occurrences that attracted Jews to the Left. This attraction resulted in surveillance by security agencies. Why were ASIO and its organisational predecessors preoccupied with the Jewish Left? Recent events have resulted in Jews shifting their political allegiance to the Right. This is a global trend. In Israel the social democrats have been replaced by coalitions of right-wing religious parties. What drove this political apostasy?
