This session looks at the place of Jewish women in Judaism historically and halachically. Topics include the mechitza, minyan, home vs. synagogue, sexuality, female spirituality and more. As a modern orthodox Rebbetzin, and a passionate feminist, Deb challenges the notion that Orthodox Judaism is sexist against women. This session provides an opportunity to look into our holy texts, consider historical contexts and challenge Post-modern criticisms of Judaism.
