Shane Baker serves as Director of the Congress for Jewish Culture a 70-year old organization that promotes new Yiddish culture throughout the world. The New York Times dubbed him “one of the most prominent proponents of Yiddish theater, language and culture in New York,” and he has performed and lectured in Yiddish on every inhabited continent. He has played Vladimir in his own Yiddish translation of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot both Off-Broadway and internationally; and has also appeared Off-Broadway in his other co-creations: Tevye Served Raw and The Big Bupkis!
